He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Schroder of Hancock, Iowa; his children, Kathy Grote of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Sharon Maassen (Paul) of Omaha, Nebraska, Mark Schroder (Lyla) of Hancock, Iowa and Marsha Bierbaum (Brent) of Griswold, Iowa; his granddaughter Michelle Bakker (Mike); his children, Aaron Grote (Angie), Kristen Jacobsen, Angie Frink (Mike), Matt Maassen, Steve Schroder (Megan), Chad Schroder, Jonathan Schroder (Katie), Rachel Hoffman (Ryan), Adam Bierbaum (Megan) and Joshua Bierbaum (Logan); his great grandchildren, Ryne, Tryce, Dominic, Julia, Emma, Logan, Ryder, Clara, Avis, Graham, Reagan, Austin, Nathan and Addison; and his sisters-in-law, Mildred Nielsen of Dunlap, Iowa and Betty Juhl (Eugene) of Irwin, Iowa.
