He was predeceased by: his father Mike Rau; his wife Victoria Rau-Ballardo; and his sisters, Lois Thomas and Cindy Wright. He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Rau (Peterson); his son Gilbert Rau-Ballardo of San Diego, California; and his siblings, Mick Rau (Joan) of Council Bluffs, Ed Rau (Karen) of Gilbert, Matt Rau (Mona) of Sahuarita, Tim Rau (Tammy) of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Audrey Evans (Terry) of Branson, Rebecca Vega (Robert) of Columbia, Lori McWilliams (Danny) of Pisgah, Iowa and Julie Blocki of Council Bluffs. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
