With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Mary Etta Johnson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Christian "Chrisey" Koch and Thelma Koch (McGlothlin); her husband Walt Johnson; and her siblings, Dorothy Buck (Joe), Joyce Thomas, Joseph, Raymond and Jerry Koch.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Johnson (Susan) of Easton, PA, Greg Johnson (Margie) of Council Bluffs, Denise Schaeffer (Gary) of Council Bluffs and Joe Johnson (Liz) of Weatherford, TX; her grandchildren, Nick Johnson, Abby Johnson, Paul Johnson, Allison Earlywine (Ethan), Eric Johnson, Stephanie Grim (Cody), Shelby Blum (Steven), Serra Maresh (Travis), Kiley Comte (Nick), Salvador Espana (Maria), Carlos Espana, Dyana Espana, Adriana Beasley (Zach), Eric Espana, Claudia Espana and Stephanie Andrade; her siblings, Leonard Koch (Vi) of South Fork, CO and Annie Leibold (Ed) of Everett, WA; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Koch of Hutchison, KS and Cathy Koch of Seattle, WA. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home & Crematory (545 Willow Ave, Council Bluffs, IA 51503).
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Albert Schools or Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
