He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Plumb and Opal Plumb (Potter); his son-in-law Lynn Bertelsen; and his brother Darrell Plumb. He is survived by: his wife Connie Plumb of Council Bluffs; his daughters, Lezli Root (Steve) of Lawrence, KS, Trisha McGrain (Nick) of Lenexa, KS, Sheila Bertelsen (Gary Bales) of Des Moines, IA and Rhonda Casson (Robert) of McClelland, IA; and his sister Karen Dobernecker of Pella, IA. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
