He was predeceased by: his mother Reta Snedigar VanNess. He is survived by: his wife Joan Highberger; and his children, Dan (Linda), Thomas (Samira), Russ (Val Kitzmiller) and Carol Elder (Kim). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
