He was predeceased by: his parents, Anastacia Polly (Castro) and Joseph Angel "Joe" Hernandez, Sr.; his daughter Amanda Hernandez; and his sister Theresa Hernandez. He is survived by: his wife Kristine Hernandez of Council Bluffs; his children, Nicole Thomsen (Eric) of Council Bluffs, Jordan Hernandez (Ryan Jenkins) of Council Bluffs, Nathan Hernandez of Council Bluffs and Krystle Chesbrough of Louisiana; his grandchildren, Eliza, Georgia, Izabella, Emmet and Quinn; and his brothers, Rick Hernandez of Omaha and Tony Hernandez (Stephanie) of St. Petersburg, FL.
