James left this world on August 28, 2024 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Graham Jennings and Opal Jennings. He is survived by: his wife Verna Jennings; his children, Karen Jennings (Ron Peoples) and William Jennings (Traci); his grandchildren, Elli Shindelar (Shawn), Abigail Jennings, Jake Jennings and Claire Peoples; and his brothers, John Jennings (Deanna) and David Jennings (Linda). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews.

The family suggests memorials be made to New Horizon Presbyterian Church.
