He was predeceased by: his father Harold Sisley; his wife Patricia; and his son Troy. He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Angel Pletka; and his brothers, Ron Sisley (Pat), Tom Sisley (Virginia), Tim Sisley and Jim Sisley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Don enjoyed fixing bicycles and often would donate many that he fixed.
