Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Barbara Ann Beien of Council Bluffs, Iowa, born in Sterling, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 91, on November 9, 2024. As we bid Barbara Ann farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Barbara Ann is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husband James E Smith; her parents, Frank M Beien and Margaret Beien (Preston); her siblings, Frank R Beien, David A Beien and Rita L Modler; her son-in-law Kevin Heald; and her grandson Bobby Brown.
She is survived by: her sister Margaret Mary Matthews of Washington State; and her children, Kathleen A Holtz (Kendall) and Holtz of Omaha, NE.. She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Andrew Catholic Church (708 10th Ave, Rock Falls, IL 61071).
