Nancy Lou Coates Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nancy Lou Coates (Corydon, Iowa), born in Chariton, Iowa, who passed away on July 2, 2023 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Coye Whiteley and Marshall Whiteley; her husband Carl Thomas Coates; and her son Chris. She is survived by: her sons, Thomas Marshall (Lee Ann), Christopher Carl and Michael Henry (Gloria Burleson); and her grandchildren, Sarah (Dustin Harper), Katie (Charlie Ochanpaugh), Grant Coates (Katie), Casey Coates (Dana), Breann Enright (Michael) and Chase Coates (Malorie). She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.

She volunteered with The American Cancer Society for 40 + years, and she spoke at some of their events as a breast cancer survivor.
