He is survived by: his wife Virginia Rose Cook; his children, Robert Grimes of Mount Ayr, Gary Grimes of Waukee, Ann Lund of Corydon and Randy Grimes of Raleigh; and his siblings, Louise Pence of Altoona, James Grimes of Mitchellville, John Grimes of Marshalltown, Virginia Bettis of Florence and Gerald Grimes of Corydon. He is also survived by four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
