It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Houston (Corydon, Iowa), born in Willow Springs, Missouri, who passed away on January 10, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Houston and Evelyn Houston (Barger); his wife Shirley Ballentine; his son Rusty Houston; and his grandson Chase McElvain.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deanne Heaton, Leanne Blizek (Mike) and Shelly McElvain (David); and his grandchildren, Beau Heaton (Stephanie), Cassie Heaton, Chad Holmes (Ashley), Matthew Blizek, Mason Blizek (Mindi), Corina Adams, Brady McElvain (Markie), Savannah Smith (Bracken), Samantha Grove (Brian) and Stephanie Eason (Tyler). He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, eight siblings, friend.
Memorials may be made to "Shirley's Kids" c/o Shelley McElvain. Shirley's Kids is a foundation to assist with children's needs.
