He was predeceased by: his parents, Duane "Tuck" Banta and Kathleen Banta (McClimans); his wife Diana Ruth Banta; his siblings, Duane Banta Jr. and LaDonna Reisdorph; his great grandchild Braxton; and his nephews, Benji and Aaron.
He is survived by: his children, Ardell Banta Jr. (Becky) of Sioux City and Deanna Skidmore (Tim) of Salix, IA; his grandchildren, Kyle Skidmore of Salix, Obbreanna Skidmore (Colby Seward) of Salix, IA, Abbie Skidmore (Bryce Coble) of Onawa, IA, Blake Banta, Jacob Banta of Salix, IA and Josie Banta (Corey Donahue) of Sioux City, IA; his great grandchildren, Amelia, Macie, Nathan and Vivian; his aunts, Darlene Banta of Sioux City and Sandy Banta of Arkansas; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Downey (Lori) and Patty Gotto (Banta). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
