He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Jack and Velma Bowman; his siblings, Ronald, Ralph Petty and Donna Guehrn; his siblings-in-law, Patty Petty and Tony Bowman; and his nephew Brent Petty.
He is survived by: his friends, Tim Pedersen, Glen Knight, Steve McCurdy, Dick Tigges and Gary Troutman; his wife Jaxine Bowman; his daughters, Mandy Smouse (Josh) of Coon Rapids, Jessica Hartl (Chris) of Coon Rapids and Ashley Kesselring (Steve) of Coon Rapids; his grandchildren, Lauren, Jared, Parker, Addison Smouse, Kylee Hartl (Syrus Stice), Domynyck, Landon Petty, Skylar, Rydell and Gabriel Kesselring; his siblings, Kevin Petty (Cherie), Dell Petty (Leslie Forster), Sid Petty (Cherie), Luann Olsen (Gary), Lori Cooper (Ivan) and Elsie Flug (Richard); and his sisters-in-law, Linda Petty and Mary Lou Bowman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and countless friends.
