He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nees and Agnes Nees (Ortner); his parents-in-law, Carl and Emma Messersmith; his sister Mary Jane Miller (Lloyd); and his parents-in-law, Alan Aiken, Lee Fick and Jerry Stangl.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Nees of Coon Rapids; his children, Larry Nees (Cathy) of Coon Rapids, Laura Croonquist (Dave) of Waterloo, NE, Mary Brown (Doug) of Orient, IA, Angela Porter (Chuck) of Mapleton, IA and David Nees (Annette) of Dedham, IA; his sisters, Shirley Fick of Bremerton, WA and Marvel Aiken of Silverdale, WA; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Stangl of Minden, NE and Charlotte Haubrich (Ronald) of Carroll, IA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Those in attendance at Lloyd's mass are required to wear a face mask and abide by current Covid-19 social distancing guidelines.
