He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Hansena Christensen (Hansen) and Ejnar Christensen; his parents-in-law, Thelma and Floyd Brassfield; his brother Clifford Christensen; and his son-in-law Jim Vandevanter.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce M. Brassfield; his children, Mardell Vandevanter of Humbolt, IA, Becky Von Weihe (Doug) of Carson, IA, Bonnie Muus (Paul) of Grand Marais, MN and Delbert Christensen of Kimballton, IA; his siblings, Orvie Christensen (Margaret) of Kimballton, IA and Mary Lou Johnson of Council Bluffs, IA; and his brother-in-law Boyd Yaden of Oregon. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.
