He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Slinker and Elizabeth Slinker (Wiener); his wife Muriel Bixby; his son James; and his siblings, Russell, Don, Mildred Winkel Harms and Dorothy Mowery.
He is survived by: his children, Joan Appelgate (Bruce) of Gladbrook, IA, Jenifer Murty of Conrad and Jack Slinker (Kathy) of Indianola, IA; his grandchildren, Sabre Riffle (Randy), Shelley Smith (Keith), Stephanie Gethmann (Ed Schatz), Ross Murty (Ashley), Blair Murty (Beth), Jason Slinker (Allie) and Rob Slinker (Erika); and his sister-in-law Inez Slinker. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Conrad American Legion.
