She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Brown and Anna Brown (Knottnerus); her former husband James Raymond Van Auken; her daughters, Gayla Boyd and Melody Counce; her stepdaughter Cheryl Metzger; her grandson Miles Counce; and her brothers, Charles and Ab Brown.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Metzger of Columbus Junction; her daughters, Peggy Hoback (Jon) of Columbus Junction and Sheila Lukins (Mark) of Washington; her stepchildren, Rick Metzger (Sherry) of Muscatine, Judy Metzger of Muscatine and Karen Bixby (Mark) of Muscatine; and her sister Beverly Finley (Burt) of Wapello. She is also survived by many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
