Juanita R. Hunter Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Juanita R. Hunter of Columbus Junction, Iowa, born in Oxford, Iowa, who passed away on May 3, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Raphael V. Mougin and Doliena A. Mougin (Brennan); her siblings, MaryAnn Walters of Iowa City and Charles Mougin (Sandy) of Riverside; her husband Harold Hunter; her in-laws, Warren Hunter (Hildegarde), Ed Mougin (Jean), Vic Mougin (Leona), Darlene Kabela (Frank), Frank Mougin, Lawrence Walters (Whitey) and Edwin Hunter (Jane); and her grandson Nathan Heiden.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Hunter (Peggy) of Ainsworth, Karen Heiden (John) of Dows, Connie Howell (Jeff) of Muscatine and Colleen Bean (Brian) of Ainsworth; her grandchildren, Michael Farr (Libby) of Lone Tree, Haili Smith (Colton) of Iowa City, Sarah Prestemon (Aaron) of Dorchester, Allison Berghuis (Justin) of Ackley, Holly Neisen (Jeremy) of Tiffin, Lauren Howell of Wilton, Jared Bean of Cedar Rapids and Benjamin Bean (Kaylee) of Urbandale; her great grandchildren, Mylie Smith, Hoyt Prestemon, Tawnie Berghuis, Wren Berghuis, Cade Berghuis, Ivy Neisen, Jade Neisen, Brayden Pratt and Logan Pratt; and her sisters-in-law, Vivian Mougin of Oxford and Ardath Johnson (Dale) of Iowa City. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Joseph's Catholic Church or Washington County Hospice in memory of Juanita.
