With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jerry W. Mapel of Columbus Junction, Iowa, born in Texarkana, Arkansas, who passed away on November 27, 2022 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Mapel and Pearl Mapel (Colthorne). He is survived by: his wife Sharon Peters of Columbus Junction; his children, Kirk Soukup (Karen) of Middletown, Brad Soukup (Tina) of Muscatine and Darin Mapel (Tammy) of Columbus Junction; and his sister Brenda Hazelton (Al) of Texas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Washington County Hospice or the Columbus City Masonic Lodge.
