It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jan Rueckert of Columbus Junction, Iowa, born in Plainfield, Iowa, who passed away on May 17, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Bergmann and Doris Bergmann (Hirsch); her spouse Merle Anthony Rueckert; her son-in-law Ellery Virzi; and her siblings, Lester, Loren, Lyle Bergmann and Alveda Thurm.

She is survived by: her children, Steve Rueckert of Granby, CO, Mark Rueckert (Christy) of Columbus Junction, IA and Tammy Virzi of Columbus Junction, IA; her daughter-in-law Terri Rueckert of Longmont, CO; her grandchildren, Golden Rueckert (Denise), Dylan Rueckert (Betsy), Travis Rueckert (Robyn), Shae Curtis (Ryan), Matt Rueckert (Kelli) and Lindsay Rueckert; and her great grandchildren, Jack, Clayton, Madelyn, Caden, Camille and Callen.

A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Jan.
