He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Earl and Anna Marie Buffington (O'Donnell); and his siblings, Darwin, Michael, Virgil, Clifford "Gary" and Karol Buffington. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins along with many extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Iowa State Fair Blue-Ribbon Foundation or the Stead Family Children's Hospital in Iowa City.
