She was predeceased by: her parents, George Usken and Ida Usken (Selvig); her husband James Hartwig; her son Craig Hartwig; her brother Berlyn Usken; and her in-laws, Arnold and Marguerite Hartwig.
She is survived by: her son Douglas Hartwig of State Center; and her siblings, Gary Usken (Laurie) of Ft. Collins and Roxanne Young (Norman) of Hayfield, MN. She is also survived by niece and nephews, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (605 1st Ave N, State Center, IA 50247). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials in Betty's honor may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, State Center.
