He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Birchmier and Frances Birchmier (Backoff); his wife Mary; his son Michael James Birchmier; and his brothers, Joe (Bonnie) and Albert Lee (Carol).
He is survived by: his brother Dr. Lawrence Birchmier (Ginie) of Mitchellville; his children, Mark (Marti) of Maxwell, Julie Laffey (Daren) of Runnells and Jean Birchmier of Maxwell; his grandchildren, Adam, Ryan (Haley), Matt (Lauren), Chelsi and Brad; and his great grandchildren, Addison and Grayson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colo or The Maxwell VFW.
