He was predeceased by: his father Earl Leonard; and his brother David Evans. He is survived by: his mother Darlene Fern Evans (Haley) of Ankeny; his former wife Ann Freund; his wife Brenda Gildersleeve of Collins; his children, Lindsay Evans of Nevada and Adam Evans of Ames; his stepchildren, Sean Gildersleeve (Rachel) of Ames, Kasee Rasmussen (Ryan) of Nevada, Kylee Gaskill (Jesse) of Ames and Kirstee Gildersleeve of Gilbert; his grandchildren, Austyn, Patricia Mowery and Mara Rasmussen; and his siblings, Teresa Evans-Winfield (Chris), John Evans (Peg) of Collins and Barry Evans (Sue) of Alleman.
