It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leland Atwood of Colfax, Iowa, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on May 22, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Snowden Atwood and Ruth Atwood; his former wife Judy Kay Atwood (Sage); and also, Sam and Opal Sage.
He is survived by: his spouse Red Atwood; his children, Regina McLaughlin (John) of Colfax, Jodi Atwood-Miller (Rick) of Excelsior and Scott Atwood (Dawn) of Colfax; his stepsons, Stephen Smith of Des Moines, Timothy Smith of Cedar Rapids and Ethan Smith (Melissa) of North Liberty; his grandchildren, Sydney, Conner, Jordan and Chelsey; and his stepgrandsons, Evan and Austin.
Memorials may be made out to the Colfax Methodist Church as well as the Colfax Fire Association.
