He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Kopriva and Maxine Kopriva (Prusha); his aunts and uncles, Lillian, Wilbert Meinhart, Theresa Prusha, Floyd Prusha and Robert Kriz; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Kopriva.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Benda of Clutier; his children, Paula Messner (Justin) of Hayes, VA, Anthony Kopriva (Rachael) of Clutier and Pete Kopriva (Ashley) of Lone Tree, IA; his grandchildren, Taylor, Camden, Adrian, Ava Messner, Henry Kopriva, Rhett and Brayden Kopriva; his brothers, Gerry of Clutier, Jim (Sandi) of Clutier and John of Traer; and his aunts and uncles, Hubert Kopriva (Donna) of Belmond, IA, Paul Prusha of Amana, IA, Marjorie Kriz of Dysart and Mary Lou Prusha of Tama. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
