It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Eleanor Stearns of Clive, Iowa, who passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Ernest and Marian Frances Brooks (Campbell); her husband Ronald Stearns of Milo; and her brother Marvin Brooks. She is survived by: her children, Diane Linnerson (Carl), Ronald Stearns II (Connie), Sylvia Bergeson (Lance) and Becky Stearns; her grandchildren, Abby Linnerson (Chris Peterson), Tory Linnerson, Alexandria Linnerson, Annika Bergeson and Lukas Bergeson; her great grandchildren, Lulea and Piper Peterson; her sisters, Mary McClean and Virginia Midkiff (Thomas); her sisters-in-law, Janet Arey (James) and Judith Lepley (Paul); and her close friend David Amick. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Overton Funeral Home (501 W Ashland Ave, Indianola, IA 50125). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Mt Calvary Lutheran Church (2214 E 2nd Ave, Indianola, IA 50125). A burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials in memory of Dorothy may be given to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Lutheran Hour Ministries or Agape Pregnancy Center in Des Moines.
