He was predeceased by: his parents, Brazill "Bae" Note and Louise Van Note (Bemer); his parents-in-law, William Scherf and Viola Scherf; his son Michael Van Note; his siblings, George Van Note, Everette Van Note, Lee Van Note and Helen Plein; and his siblings-in-law, Loren Scherf, Eldean Scherf, Verdine Glawe, Frank Plein, Mildred "Midge" Van Note, Alice Van Note, Lafonda Scherf, JoAnn Scherf and Cheryll Scherf.
He is survived by: his wife Vernelda Van Note; his sons, John Van Note (Shelly) of Madison and Paul Van Note (Elithea) of Moline, Illinois; his grandchildren, Henry Van Note, Oliver Van Note and Clara Van Note; his siblings, Dean Van Note and Ruth Humes; his siblings-in-law, William Scherf II, Lloyd Scherf, Robert Humes, Elizabeth Van Note, Marvel Van Note, Carol Ortman and Marlene Glawe; and his caregiver Corinna. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Wayne's name may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
