She is survived by: her spouse Richard Bates; her significant other Steve Allsup of Clinton; her children, Richard Bates (Colette) of Maquoketa, Larry Bates (Christina) of Moline, Jesse Bates (Regina) of Clinton and Brenda Bates (Andres Perez) of Dubuque, Iowa; and her siblings, Danny Norem (Jean) of Clinton, Gary Norem of Clinton, Dude Norem (Kim) of Clinton, Larry Norem (Rita) of Fulton, Tony Norem (Candice) of Michigan and Mary Norem of Kewanee, Illinois. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
