It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Veda Smith of Clinton, Iowa, born in Dyersville, Iowa, who passed away on October 28, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Cooksley and Erma Cooksley (Scott); her husband James E. Smith; her son Richard; her grandsons, Anthony, Dillon and Dallas; and her sister Mel Kennedy.
She is survived by: her children, Becky Cummings of Bellevue, IA, Christine Schnoor (Jimmie) of Camanche, IA, Erma Naeve of Bellevue, IA, Patty Mayberry (Kevin) of Boone, IA, June Schlecht (Frank) of Clinton, IA, William Smith (Madonna Anderson) of Clinton, IA and Donald Smith (Sherill Spradlin) of Gallatin, TN; and her brother William Cooksley of Epworth, IA. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
