He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Hesselmann and Anna Hesselmann (Milbert); and his son Mark. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Lord; his children, Lynn Lilly (Jeff) of Urbandale, Mike Hesselmann (Julie) of St. Joseph and Steve Hesselmann (Beth) of Johnston, Iowa; his stepson James Lord (Deb) of Camanche; his grandchildren, Kristin Riley (Logan), Kerri Buchheit (Zach), Megan Lilly, Caroline Lilly, Jack Lilly, Sam Hesselmann, Ellie Hesselmann, Madison Hesselmann and Jadyn Hesselmann; his great grandchildren, Kendell Grace and Lauren James Riley; his daughter-in-law Tammy Hesselmann of Dubuque; his brother Jim Hesselmann of Niwot; and his sister-in-law Joanne Smith of Tolona, Illinois..
