He was predeceased by: his parents, Detlef Carstensen and Olivia Carstensen Holle (Nelson); and his siblings, Jack Carstensen, David Carstensen and Judy Gorman.
He is survived by: his brother James A. Carstensen of Clinton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
