He is survived by: his former wife Helen Johnson; his wife Ruby Carter; his children, Linda Carter of Atchison, KS, Paulette Brooke (Dennis) of Atchison, KS and Brad Carter of Atchison, KS; and his stepchildren, Donna Burkley of Clinton, Dennis Schmidt (Amber) of Hermann, MO, Lana Zimmerman of Clinton, Robert Zimmerman (Ruth) of Delmar, IA, Denise Wood (Mark) of Clinton, Cheri Dahlin (Mike Clark) of LeClaire, IA, Jeri Shaw (Jason) of Hallsville, MO and David Zimmerman (Lori) of Fulton, IL. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
