He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald William and Pearl Elsie Hansen (Duncan); his daughter Angie; his sister Carla; and his stepdaughter Donna.

He is survived by: his wife Karen of Clinton; his children, Paul Hansen (Eileen) of Hartford and Jennifer Hansen (Jon Wauford) of Clinton, Iowa; and his stepdaughters, Debra Nielsen of Olathe and Diane Schellenburg of Bettendorf, Iowa. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
