He is survived by: his wife Leita Claussen; his children, Michael Schultz (Shelly) of Clinton, IA and Karen Mohr (Scott) of Goose Lake, IA; and his sister Sue Kinnaman of Rock Falls, IL.. He is also survived by four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

“Hi Leita. We are so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. I’ll never forget how I met him. We were camping next door to y’all and you and Keith had already left for work. A big wind picked up and I saw Mike rolling in your awning…I didn’t know how to do ours so I asked him if he could help me. Mind you it’s 5 o’clock in the morning! He was so sweet and promptly helped me. I’m so glad we became friends with you both. Hope to get together sometime. All our love and blessings Keith and Sherry Malone”
