With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Laverne Houzenga of Clinton, Iowa, born in Morrison, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertrum "Bert" Houzenga and Anna Houzenga (Buikema); his wife Sylvia Huebner; his grandson Michael; and his siblings, Bernard, Cliff and Darlene.
He is survived by: his children, Colleen Thompson (Bud) of Fulton, IL, Richard Houzenga of Clinton, IA, Cindy Holesinger (Bob) of Clinton, IA, Kent Houzenga (Brandi) of Killen, AL, Steve Houzenga (Stephanie) of Garden Plain, IL and Scott Houzenga (Nancy) of Clinton, IA; and his sisters, Delores Stuart of Morrison, IL, Bernice Kyarsgaard of Camanche, IA, Jean Williams of Thomson, IL and Ardella Houzenga of Savanna, IL. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
