It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph R. Mattan (Clinton, Iowa), born in Geneseo, Illinois, who passed away on August 21, 2018, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son Jason; and his brothers, August Jr., Emil and James. He is survived by: his parent Josephine Mattan, Sr. (Van De Woestyne); his spouse Jill VanVelzer; his daughter Christy Kohtz (Andrew) of Phoenix; his siblings, JoAnn Snodgrass (Bob) of Morrison, Mary Bell of Springfield, Richard Mattan (Joyce) of Geneseo and Donald Mattan of Bedford; and also, Amelia Perry, Dailey Kohtz and Corbin Kohtz.
