We are sad to announce that on July 24, 2020, at the age of 97, Johanna P. Balster of Clinton, Iowa, born in Caledonia, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Conrad Hansen and Marcia Hansen (Ketelsen); her husband John Balster; her children, David and Kathryn; and her brother Connie.

She is survived by: her children, John Balster (Marsha) of Mundelein, IL and Jane Balster of Clinton; her grandsons, J. Aaron Balster of Mundelein, IL and Matthew Balster (Fran) of Elmhurst, IL; and her great grandchild Ian Balster of Garner, NC..

Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.

“I am sorry to hear of Jo’s passing. She was ever such a good friend to my mom Mary Jane Stouvenel... As young moms they visited each other talking over the fence in their yards! I was reminded this lately when texting with John jr. They were very good friends!!! I last visite with Jo and daughter Jane in 2012 on a vacation back to Clinton!! We shared some memories then. Your family is close in my heart!. May you find comfort knowing she is in God’s loving arms!!! Collene Stouvenel Burgess”
