He is survived by: his wife Denise Selser of Clinton; his son James Tanner II (Sabrina) of Clinton; his stepdaughter Nancy Massey (Cody) of Clinton; and his sisters, Mickey Vanden Berg (Mark) of Beaumont, CA, Wendy Tanner (Toshio) of Elk Grove, CA and Danelle Perez (Ron) of Lakewood, CA. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
