She is survived by: her children, Roni Mitchell (Daniel), Penny Venhuizen (Gary), Robert Whitten (Christine), Cindy Petersen (Pete) and Glen Whitten (Tammie); her siblings, Elaine Grigg, Quela Cummins and Tony Faulkner; her parents, Maggie Marie Yancy (Gates) and Vaughn Johnson Faulkner; her grandson Clifford Vaughn May; her brother Virgil Vaughn "Butch" Faulkner; and her children, Kathy Jewel Utley and Charles Spencer Whitten.
Donations will be contributed to a memorial scholarship fund in her name to support the fine arts field of education.
