He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn McDonnell, and Caroline McDonnell, Sr. (Petersen); and his sisters, Kathryn and Nancy. He is survived by: his wife Carol McDonnell of Clinton; his children, Susan Georgeff (Brian) of Oostburg, WI, Monika Boswein (Doug) of Gibbsville, WI, James McDonnell (Maria) of Clinton, IA and Jennifer Funderburgh-McDonnell (David); and his granddaughter Hannah Caves-McDonnell (Audrey) of Alamogordo, NM. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, a niece and two nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Pape Funeral Home (2308 Pershing Blvd, Clinton, IA 52732). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
