He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald McDermott and Mary Bernadine Donahue McDermott; his sister Kathleen Wilson; his brother-in-law Bob Wilson; and his father-in-law Emil Mootz.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy; his children, Gail Eddy (David) and Shawn McDermott of Clinton; his grandchildren, Cassie Krupa (Danny Machado), Curtis Krupa, Cate Krupa and Michael McDermott-Graves (Ashley Felix); his great grandchildren, Julian, Natalia, Romeo and Coral Flynn Graves; his mother-in-law Bernice Mootz; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Truelsen (Gaylon), Connie Schroeder (Allen) and Cathy Stahl (Julian).
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pape Funeral Home (2308 Pershing Blvd, Clinton, IA 52732). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
