He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward McMahon and Wilma McMahon (Rieckmann). He is survived by: his children, Edward McMahon of Dallas, Erin McMahon-Katzer (Christian Katzer) of Salzburg, Brian Malahy (Sara) of Morganton, Kelly Rusch (Jonathan) of Alaska and Heather Benenato (Matt) of Chandler, Arizona; and his siblings, Madeline Nugent (Ramon), Meredith McMahon and Kathleen Bauer (Gerald). He is also survived by four grandchildren.

“Ed will be remembered by his many students, friends and family. I will always carry the memory of Ed trying to make his ancient A clarinet play in tune while playing with me in the Clinton Symphony. The whole woodwind section rejoiced when Ed purchased a new A clarinet. The symphony owes a debt of gratitude to Ed for his many years of service, both as a player and a board member. May Edward rest in the peace of our Lord and Savior.”
