He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Harmon and Rosella Harmon (Matheson); his wife Edith Luce; and his sister Carolyn Axtell. He is survived by: his sons, Michael Harmon (Cheryl) of Moline and Stephen Harmon (Michelle) of Morrison, Illinois; his grandchildren, Kelsey Harmon (Tom Kamp) of Des Moines, Evan Harmon of Davenport, Paige Wilbur (Ben) of Fulton, Silas Harmon of Morrison and Lily Harmon of Morrison; his great grandchildren, Avia, Adalie and Sawyer; and his sisters, Doris Murray of Camanche, Dixie Meredith (Don) of Webb City and Pamela Burrus of Overland Park, Kansas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
