He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Nicolaysen and Viola Nicolaysen (Rathje); and his wife Nancy Frederick. He is survived by: his children, Scott Nicolaysen (Julie) of Albuquerque and Kari Lystiuk (Glen) of Davenport, Iowa; his grandchildren, Lindsey, Shelby, Emily (Ian), John and Evan; and his brother Robert Nicolaysen of Richardson, Texas..
