He was predeceased by: his brother Chuck. He is survived by: his wife Joyce of Clinton; his children, Tracy Madrigal (Oscar) of Rosenberg, Todd Steen (Amy) of Webster City and Jodi Chapman of Clinton; and his siblings, Sharon Tinkler of Walcott and Gary Steen (Monica) of Bryant. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
