He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Giebelstein and Mildred Giebelstein (Paulson). He is survived by: his wife Edith Matherly of Clinton; his children, David Giebelstein, Jr. (Lorie Warner) of Clinton, Lori Giebelstein of Clinton, Bruce Giebelstein (Diane) of Clarence, Shannon Decker (Eric) of Clinton and Shawn Giebelstein (Lori) of Altoona, Pennsylvania; and his brother Dennis Giebelstein of Clinton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gateway Baptist Church (722 S 16th St, Clinton, IA 52732). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
