He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle Mitchell and Anna Mitchell (Wiebenga); his brothers, Raymond, William, Warren and Leonard Mitchell; and his brother-in-law Larry Vanderploog.
He is survived by: his wife Roni Mitchell of Fulton; his children, Melissa Wiersema (Curis Ishmael) of Fulton, Heather Crosser of Fort Collins and RJ Jensen (Bobbie Jean) of Fulton; and his sisters, Donna Schroeder (LaVerne), Roberta Vanderploog, Linda Vankampen (Richard) and Leah Ann Duncan (Greg). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.
