He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Reed and Alma Reed (Hollatz). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Devitt; his children, Dani Fosseen (Scott) of Humboldt, Chad Reed (Robin) of Eureka, Randi Leimkuhl (Jason) of Colorado Springs and Brad Reed (Erica) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his grandchildren, Cortney, Carley Crozier, Canyon, Sutton, Britton Reed, Devon and Jace Leimkuhl; and his siblings, Phil Reed (Sheryl) of Fort Dodge, Lanny Reed (Barb) of Clinton and Teri Reed of Mason City. He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews.
